Sustainability
The TU Office of Sustainability is committed to educating and supporting Temple students to create a culture and expectation for environmental action at all levels. Learn more about the countless initiatives they lead and support on and around campus and we are highlighting below some of those most relevant to you: Temple students living off-campus in the North Philadelphia community.
The Office of Sustainability manages a repository of plans, reports, and resources that we encourage you to review including resources and programs available for transportation, waste and recycling, toolkits, and more. A few of the toolkits most relevant for students living off-campus are highlighted below.

Moving Out Sustainably
With a little planning you can donate and recycle most everything you might otherwise end up putting on the curb.
We encourage you to read Temple Sustainability’s Blog Post, quoted above, about how you can plan ahead to donate furniture, clothing, and more before moving out of your apartment.
You can also take advantage of Temple’s TUMove program. If you live in Temple’s patrol zone, you can schedule pick-up of discarded household items when moving out of your off-campus housing. Visit the page linked here to review the dates of the program, schedule a pickup, and learn about alternate bulk waste disposal options so you can be a good neighbor to the community during moveout.
